Medical Team Lead

I grew up in the Wichita area, raised in a household that prioritized holistic living. My family relied on diet, supplements, and home remedies to care for our health, and I loved everything about it, including the chance to learn how to maintain my own health from a natural perspective. I believed deeply in the functional concepts I was raised on, and I saw the results firsthand. It didn't take long to realize I had a natural pull toward health, and that tug became the compass for my college and career choices.

Right out of high school, I was thrilled to begin my first job as a medical assistant at an upper extremities clinic. As someone devoted to learning, I soaked up every opportunity that the role offered, from applying casts to assisting in surgical procedures. After earning my nursing degree from Butler Community College and completing my Bachelor's at KU, I spent the next three years working as a staff RN in emergency medicine.

The ER gave me an incredible education, and I found the fast-paced environment fascinating, but over time I began to long for the kind of healing medicine I'd personally experienced growing up. Emergency medicine is essential, but my heart kept pulling toward prevention and long-term healing. When I joined the Prairie Health and Wellness staff in 2019, I knew I'd found the type of medicine my heart was aligned with.

After a couple of years at Prairie Health & Wellness, I stepped away to attend Bible school in Lubbock, TX. During the year I spent there, I had the privilege of leading in new ways, by starting a high-school girls' ministry at the church I attended, and by supporting interns during a three-week Bible School internship. By the end of the year, I felt led back to my roots in medicine and returned to PHW. Not only do I have the opportunity to serve patients again through functional medicine, but I also have the privilege of leading the incredible nurses and Medical Assistants that comprise the Medical Team. My time as a staff nurse gave me first-hand knowledge of day-to-day patient care, and this allows me to guide our team with both compassion and clinical experience.

I love being able to work in a field I'm passionate about every day, and it feels like an extension of who I am as a person. Outside of the office, you'll find me pursuing a wide variety of interests: being outdoors, country living, playing piano, spending time with friends, cooking, serving at church, being with my family, and playing with my cats, Sashi and Sencha.
